I had promised my loving husband that I would make him an afghan. I promised this about two years ago, and never had the drive to complete it. I'm so lazy. Blankets are hard! Finding the right pattern is also very difficult. So, I have all of this yarn meant for his blanket and a bunch of spare skeins of yarn picked up from various places that I have no plans for.
Then I find out about the Bernat Mystery Afghan Crochet Along found on the Bernat Blog. I had actually planned to follow along when it first started in October, but I got distracted and only just remembered to look up the weekly clues. This past week was spent attempting to catch up to the clues, but I am still woefully behind. Prolly because one clue is for 16 squares and the rest were from 2-8 squares. So I have completed 4 out of the current 7 clues released.
Here are the squares::
Clue One, two squares:
Clue Two, two squares:
Clue Three, eight squares:
Clue Four, four squares:
Not Completed...
Clue Five, sixteen squares:
Not Completed...
Clue Six, four squares:
Clue Seven, one large square:
Not Completed...
That's a really awesome idea.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting a warm hat and scarf combo for ages but i can never find what i want in stores so I might have to take up knitting/crochet so I can have them before it gets too cold out!
Pick up crocheting if you want to go quick and easy. I can bust out a scarf and a hat with crochet in a few hours. With knitting it takes me almost twice as long for a hat and almost 4 times as long for a scarf.
ReplyDeletedang that's a lot of squares. I started knitting rectangles for a blanket last summer... I should get back to that, thanks for reminding me XD
ReplyDeleteSo many squares XD Bet the blanket's going to turn out awesome!
ReplyDeleteI had to google "afghan" lol, I thought it was a nationality :p
ReplyDeleteAh, you crochet so well! I tried picking it up a few years ago only to come up with a very weird looking hat. My technique wasn't very consistent XD
ReplyDeleteI will never ever have the patience for an afghan or blanket. I admire people who do.
ReplyDeleteA bit off-topic, but I didn't realized you'd made a blogger over here. I found you by accident going through other pages, and I'm glad I did! Not only do your creations look super cute, but I'm glad to hear that it sounds like you're healthier, happier, and generally having a good time of it lately.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more of your projects! I've already poked and prodded through a few entries. :)
